Interview 1: Helen Hornung
Question 1:
How different are the cultures?
Helen: The Vietnamese culture is very family-oriented and the American culture isn't as family-oriented.
Question 2:
How was the change?
Helen: The change was very different for me and.... I had to get use to it, but I liked it overall and you know just don't be awkward.
Question 3:
What are some of the differences of the families?
Helen: Some of the differences for my family were mostly religon, utensils that we use, and langauge.
Question 4:
What are family gatherings like?
Helen: Vietnamese family gatherings are very loud, but we are very family-oriented. So, family quality time together, you know? Spend some nice time with our cousins, with are uncles, and aunts, and of course our grandparents because their just the loveliest. And yeah...
Question 5:
Do you like it?
Helen: I really do you like the change on how my family is blended and everything. It really gives you a diverse feel and it's kinda like Hannah Montana. It gives you the "best of both worlds."
